After months of rumors and sporadic leaks, Nintendo has finally revealed the first official images from The Legend of Zelda live-action movie, confirming that production has already begun filming and is moving forward after previous delays.
The new images appeared via the Nintendo Today app as reported by Vooks and included 3 high-resolution shots, a close-up of Bo Bragason as Zelda wearing the blue outfit clearly inspired by her appearance in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
A close-up of Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, who portrays Link in his classic green costume, and a photo of the duo looking at the horizon with part of the film’s world in the background gives the first official glimpse of the environment in which the action will take place.
These images come after a wave of leaked clips from the set that showed Link in his green costume and Zelda in her blue clothes, in addition to a horse carrying a patch bearing the classic Zelda logo, the leaks prompted some to question their credibility, especially with the spread of fake content based on artificial intelligence, but the official images from Nintendo put an end to this controversy.
Shigeru Miyamoto had previously announced the casting of the main cast, leaving fans waiting to see the official faces of the characters, which has now been realized.
In related news, reports have surfaced that one of the stars of Severance may be joining the cast, while LEGO is gearing up to release a Zelda-specific set in 2026.
The new official images have raised the excitement level for fans of the series who have been waiting to see how the world of Hyrule and its characters will be brought to theaters in a fully-realized version.
