Although launch is still years away, new details about the PlayStation 6 handheld are starting to emerge via the Moore’s Law Is Dead (MLID) leaker. The device, codenamed Canis, will mimic the Nintendo Switch 2 experience by being able to connect to an external display when placed on a Dock.
According to MLID, the device will come with the following specifications:
– 16 RDNA 5 computing units at 1.20GHz in portable mode, rising to 1.65GHz when docked.
– 4-core Zen 6c CPU.
– M.2 SSD Slot to support memory expansion.
– Full support for backwards compatibility with PS4 and PS5 games.
– Haptic Vibration technology.
– Estimated power consumption of 15W TBP.
Sony reportedly plans to launch both the PS6 flagship and the mobile version between late 2027 and early 2028, meaning the project is still in the early stages of development.
So far, Sony hasn’t officially confirmed any of these specs or design details. Therefore, it remains necessary to treat these leaks with caution until they are verified or officially announced.
