During a new Dev Talk session from Treyarch, design director Matt Scronce provided a host of clarifications and hints about the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, which will release on November 14, 2025 across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms (including Game Pass).
In response to audience questions, Scronce clarified that the game will not include Jetpacks or Wall Running, noting that the technology in the 2035 era of the story “hasn’t reached that level yet.”
Instead, there will be a Wall Jump system, where players can run up to a wall and jump off it, with the ability to perform 3 consecutive jumps but with a gradual loss of momentum on the second and third jumps.
As for the classic maps, Scronce received a direct question: Will we be getting redesigned Black Ops 2 maps that we haven’t seen before? Yes, you will.
At launch, 3 remastered maps from Black Ops 2 were confirmed: Raid, Express, and Hijacked, but interestingly, Nuketown has yet to be confirmed, suggesting that it will be released as DLC.
The community has already started making their wishes for the maps they would like to see return, with many asking for maps like Plaza and Carrier, while a map like Yemen could be a great fit thanks to the new wall jumping feature.
