Nintendo fans have been on fire in recent hours after the discovery of two unlisted trailers on the company’s YouTube channel showing new gameplay footage from Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, one of the most anticipated titles at the end of 2025.
The two ads do not exceed 15 seconds, but they offer an exciting glimpse of what awaits players, as the first ad centers on a new boss battle against a huge creature called Carvex in a classic fighting environment similar to previous Metroid Prime installments.
The second trailer shows the player using a different Joy-Con control scheme that allows for improved accuracy with mouse input, suggesting support for new control schemes on the Switch 2.
The two announcements quickly spread across forums such as Famiboards, where user BackwardsCompat shared them before they spread across social media, achieving tens of thousands of views despite not having been officially published yet.
While some fans were impressed by the return to the classic style of the Prime series, others felt that the scenes looked like they were from the GameCube generation in terms of graphics, but many praised the smooth movement and aiming style, considering that the actual gameplay looks very promising compared to previous versions.
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is scheduled to be released on December 4, 2025, exclusively on the Switch 2, and although the ads have not been officially released yet, their timing suggests that the marketing campaign has already started about a month and a half before the launch.
Although the footage is only a few seconds long, it’s enough to get the Metroid community excited for the game since its first announcement in 2017. With a new boss like Carvex and an improved control scheme, Nintendo seems poised to redefine the classic sci-fi experience in its own style.
