In a major strategic move, Ubisoft has officially announced the establishment of Vantage on October 1, 2025, a new studio representing the first Creative House within the company’s future structure, and this initiative comes in partnership with Tencent, which holds a 25% stake after a €1.16 billion investment earlier this year.
According to the company’s official statement:
Vantage Studios will develop and expand major brands such as Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Rainbow Six.
The studio will draw on Ubisoft’s technical and service expertise but at the same time will give developers more autonomy and direct control over their projects, with the primary goal of strengthening the bonds between developers and players while shortening the path between audience feedback and its actual implementation in games.
Christophe Derenis and Charlie Guillemot have been appointed as co-CEOs of the new studio.
The move is part of an overall plan to reorganize Ubisoft into creative houses, with the rest of the big titles to be separated into independent creative units.
In recent years, Ubisoft has suffered a decline in player confidence due to the repetition of formulas and lack of innovation in some of its series. Vantage may represent an opportunity to reinvent and offer a vision that is closer to players and more responsive to their community, and the presence of Tencent as a strategic investor may boost funding and global expansion, especially in Asian markets.
With this announcement, Ubisoft is entering a new phase that may reshape the company’s entire future, and with Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Rainbow Six being part of the new studio, millions of eyes will be watching what Vantage has to offer in the coming years.
