In an exciting surprise for superhero fans, Marvel Games has revealed that the first PvE mode in the history of Marvel Rivals titled Marvel Zombies Mode is set to release on October 23, 2025. This update comes as part of Season 4.5 ahead of the launch of Season 5 on November 14, which will add Gambit and Rogue to the game.
In a new post on Marvel Rivals’ official Xboxaccount, Marvel Games Executive Producer Danny Ko talked about the new mode, explaining that it was inspired by the popular Marvel Zombies series that reimagined Marvel heroes in a zombie-infested world.
Players will engage in a group survival experience against endless waves of zombies with the ability to choose one of five playable heroes:
- Thor
- Blade
- Magic
- Jeff
- The Punisher
The goal is simple but difficult: Survive to face the final bosses Amor and Scarlet Witch. To deliver a unique and action-packed experience, the developers have added new special abilities to each of the five heroes:
- Jeff: He can dash through hordes of zombies.
- Blade: Uses his lunar blades to tear apart enemies.
- Thor: Gets a permanent Awakened State to stun more zombies.
- Magic: Transforms into Darkchild form with no time constraints.
- The Punisher: Possesses a massive combat arsenal for prolonged encounters.
The post also included gameplay footage showing the team of 5 heroes taking on wave after wave of zombies in fierce battles from all directions.
