A short video clip from Gamescom has caused quite a stir on social media after many took it as an indirect confirmation of Leon Kennedy’s appearance in Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil Requiem game.
The resurfaced video shows the IGN Gamescom Studio logo, indicating that it was filmed during the exhibition period, and during the discussion between presenter Daemon Hatfield and his colleagues about the power of the RE Engine in processing the graphical details of the hair, one of the announcers said that Leon and Grace’s hair looked amazing in the footage we saw.
The mention of Leon’s name next to the confirmed heroine Grace in the same context of talking about footage from the game was considered by followers as a slip of the tongue or an unintentional confirmation of his participation in the ninth part, although the matter remains unofficial until the moment, as the clip may have been interpreted out of context.
The clip reinforces the credibility of previous leaks published by the well-known leaker Dusk Golem, who has repeatedly confirmed that Leon Kennedy will be a playable character in Resident Evil Requiem.
Until now, Capcom has been silent about the appearance of classic characters, which increases the state of anticipation among players, and as the clip continues to circulate widely, an official announcement may be imminent to eliminate all doubt.
