The Battlefield team has announced major changes to the player progression system within Battlefield 2042, following a wave of complaints about the difficulty of completing the free Battlepass tied to Battlefield 6 rewards.
According to an Aug. 29 update on the Battlefield Commspage, double XP events will be held consistently every weekend until the Battlepass ends on Oct. 7. Surprisingly, the last two weekends before then will see triple XP events, giving players a golden opportunity to catch up and accelerate their progress.
In its statement, the development team acknowledged that it has listened to the concerns of players who fear missing out on the opportunity to collect all the Battlepass items. The team said:
“We want to make sure that every player will have the full opportunity to get the rewards they desire.
This change is a great incentive for players to complete the challenge path and collect as much rewards and content as possible before Battlefield 6 launches in October.
With this move, EA is reaffirming that it is more serious about responding to player feedback, especially with the launch of the new installment on which it has high hopes of restoring the series’ prestige.
