According to a recent report, Sony is expected to release more PS5 service games in 2026 than single-player games from its own in-house development.
So far, there are only two single-player games confirmed for 2026:
- Marvel’s Wolverine
- Saros
In contrast, the list of confirmed or expected service games for publication in 2026 includes:
- Marathon
- Marvel Tōkon
- MLB The Show 26
- fairgame$ (expected in 2026)
This numerical disparity clearly illustrates Sony’s interim priority for service games, both in terms of investment and launch frequency. However, this does not mean that the company is abandoning individual experiences, as Sony is working on huge individual projects in development, most notably Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic, which is expected to be released in 2027.
