In a new twist to the delayed results crisis, Ubisoft CFO Frederic Doughty sent an internal letter to employees explaining why the company decided to halt trading of its shares and bonds on the Euronext exchange minutes before it was scheduled to announce its first half results for fiscal year 2025-2026.
The letter reads:
“We need additional time to finalize the closing of the accounts for the quarter and as a result we will publish the first half results in the coming days instead of tonight. Due to legal restrictions we are unable to share any additional information at this time. To minimize unnecessary speculation and market volatility during this short delay, we have asked Euronext to suspend trading of our shares until the results are announced.
Dougie encouraged employees to follow the financial conference call as soon as the results are published to get a full picture of the company’s financial situation.
Ubisoft has officially confirmed:
The company has asked Euronext to suspend trading of its shares and bonds from November 14, 2025 until the official announcement of the first half results in the coming days.
A halt request is a rare measure and is often taken only when there is sensitive information that could affect the stock price significantly before it is officially announced.
Although the company did not reveal full details, the last-minute announcement delay, the trading halt, and the CFO’s letter indicate that Ubisoft is going through a delicate financial phase or is about to reveal major changes that could affect investors.
This comes as the company prepares to launch several huge projects, such as:
- Assassin’s Creed Shadows
- Star Wars Outlaws
- The Division: Heartland
These developments coincided with repeated delays of the company’s games over the past two years.
Ubisoft’s decision to delay its results and halt trading at the last minute is sensitive and unusual and suggests that the company is facing either internal restructuring, unexpected financial volatility, or lower-than-expected results that it wants to present thoughtfully.
